The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes the sacrament of Matrimony as:
"[a]l covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament." (Article 7, p 1601).
General Information
Couples who wish to be married at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha or our Mission Parishes must meet certain criteria and adhere to specific policies set by the Diocese of Tucson prior to the date of marriage.
Saint Kateri will only prepare individuals who have recieved all Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Communion, Confirmation) for the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Prenuptial preparation
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha requires all couples fill out a prenuptial questionare and meet with the priest who will be celebrating their marriage.
