The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) describes the Sacrament of Confirmation as a moment in which "the baptized person is"sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ." The Holy Spirit blesses the Confirmed individual with seven gifts - wisdom, understanding, knowledge, fortitude, counsel, piety, and fear of the Lord.
